The work is an adapation of the Partita for 11 brass players (cat.nr. 02) for double chorus chamber orchestra. The first chorus consists of 6 wind instruments (fl, ob, cl, 2hr, bs), the second chorus of strings (4viI, 4viII, 4ve, 2vc, 1cb. The motto “Bipolarities” is worked out musically in the instrumentation (winds vs strings, soli vs tutti), tonality (tonal vs atonal), style (archaistic vs contemporary), themes (ascending vs descending) and content (individual vs mass, order vs chaos). The work is above all a “work to play” in which the executants can bring in their technical and expressive abilities in an alternating harmonic and conflicting dialogue.
